Hi Catwomen,
Melatonin comes in an implant (Ferretonin,
www.melatek.net), tablets, and a liquid version, but
I have not heard of a melatonin 9transdermal) patch.
The melatonin implant last for 3-4 months.
Propecia is a human product that comes in a bottle of
30 tablets. If you can give a tablet, then your vet can just
write a prescription, and you can pick it up at any human
pharmacy. If you cannot give a pill then the vet can call Propecia
into a compounding pharmacy to make a liquid version for
you.
In the Houston area there is a good vet named Dr Natalie Antinoff.
At A&M there is Dr James Johnson. Of course I would be glad to
see you too up here in Dallas.
Was the right adrenal gland ultrasounded to say it is attached to
the vena cava? If it was ultrasounded then how big was it actually?
Most right glands can be removed and the vena cava repaired, but
a last resort option is to ligate the vena cava in order to remove the
whole right gland when the vena cava cannot be repaired. At the same time
the right gland is removed, the prostatic cyst can be drained, omentalized
or marsupialized as needed.
Hope that helps,
Jerry Murray, DVM
