Flagyl is horrid tasting stuff. Yes, just the taste alone can cause severe stress in a ferret and many times, I believe the stress of giving flagyl may not outweigh the benefit. It certainly isn't worth causing him to go into a hypoglycemic seizure or coma because he won't eat. In this instance, the cure may be worse than the disease.

I think the real question is, are we just guessing and throwing various meds at Boo to see what might work? If you don't know what you're treating, you may be giving him something unnecessarily.

You really need to discuss this in detail with your vet. Express your concerns, ask why exactly does he need flagyly, etc. As for a liquid flagyl... I'm almost positive I've used liquid flagyl in the past. It's no less distasteful.

He's so stressed from having to take it's sending him back in to insulinoma attacks and afraid to eat his regular food!
