Before you try giving anything, and at times when you are not giving anything spend a LOT of time with him just cuddling, rubbing his ears, signing to him, speaking softly. Add treats some of the times but not all. He just needs to see that you are still bonded with him and sharing affection -- very important -- rather than appearing to be buying a bond with treats. So, loads and loads of cuddles just for cuddling, loads of praise, and take 10 very deep, very slow breaths when you get nervous or frustrated so that he doesn't read those emotions from you.
