Subject: Does anyone know if pepto causes darker stools?

My boy wasn't feeling well on Saturday-not eating and the poops. So I started him on some pepto. Sunday he was eating and stools looked better except they were a good bit darker. I know bleeding causes dark stools but was wondering if pepto can do this also?
