Subject: Cecil - Bloody Urine - Even After Surgery (Clinical Results)

This is continued from a few weeks ago. My 11 month old male, Cecil, had a lot of blood in his urine and some "sediment" in the urine. We have tried broad spectrum drugs up the "waazoo". We've tried a "sulfa" drug. We did surgery to check for everything...

Under surgery, the vet. said he had little green globules in the bladder. He scraped the bladder...but at this point, the bleeding still persists.

We have also tried different ferret food as the Ph was up to 7 (a little high,). This has also not helped...

Cecil does not seem to be in any pain, is active and happy :) But obviously, I am still worried. Here are the clinical results. They seem lacking to me? But it's what I rec'd. from the vet.

Biopsy (1 tissue) Bladder Wall. Microscopic Description: Not requested. Diagnosis: Mild Mucosal Hyperplasia. Comments: Biopsies received from the urinary bladder were characterized by mild hyperplasia of transistional epithelium along the mucosal surface. Changes are not specific but are potentially supportive of a response to chronic luminal irritation and/or antigenic stimulation. Culture would be useful to survey for bacterial components to the pathogenesis. Interpretation should be correlated with clinical history, lesion morphology, etc.

Urine Culture and Susceptibility - Source: urine-cysto Status: final, Completed Culture Results 1/28 No Growth

-- Any assistance/advice would be greatly appreciated :)
