Hello ulrike,

It certainly sounds like a compression injury is at
the top of the list for your galTara!
We have seen that time and time agian at the shelter
here when kids tuimble or play to hard. The best
therapy after cghecking spinal x-rays for area of
compression injury is REST and antiinflammatoruy meds.
It will take about 7-10 days to slowly get repair
going on the spine, that maens the hardest job will be
to limit any movement in that time. We will keep the
ferrets in a very small cage which restricts movement
afdn when they must get attention, wrap them in a
small blanket and carry them around.
Recovery whe doen correctly can be about 100%.

If you have questions once the vet has read the xrays
do not be afraid to email me.

Sending best wishes,

Alicia D at www.ferretwise.org
