My boy wasn't feeling well on Saturday-not eating and the poops. So I started
him on some pepto. Sunday he was eating and stools looked better except they
were a good bit darker. I know bleeding causes dark stools but was wondering
if pepto can do this also?

Yes, it certainly can. So can gastric bleeding, of course, and pepto should
be used with some caution as it contains salicylic acid (aspirin), which can
aggravate or even cause ulcers.
