My friend's ferret has been having seizures, she took him to the vet and had bloodwork done, and he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. She told me he will be on prednisone, and if it helps, he has about 6 months to live, and if it doesn't help, he will have to be put to sleep, probably within the week. I have never heard of multiple myeloma, and I'm having trouble finding any information on ferrets that have had it. She said it is a very rare cancer, and that it is genetic. Is there anything else that can be done for the ferret, or is this it? He is only one year old. Any information on this is appreciated. Thanks.
