Subject: Another fuzzy losing weight
Message-ID: <18055655.1109870089178.JavaMail.nobody@magnesium.smartgroups.com>

We're not completely done with Boo-Boo---still eating chicken gravy and not at all interested in kibble, and now Pixie is losing weight.

With Boo-Boo it became apparent that he was pretty sick---looked sick, slept too much, became lethargic, and was losing a LOT of weight. But with Pixie it's not so easy to tell. She still wants to explore, etc., and still plays with everyone else, is eating but apparently not eating enough to maintain her weight, etc.

Not sure at all what to do since we're barely back on our feet from all the vet bills, etc. from Boo-Boo.

I know weight loss can't be a good thing ever, unless the ferret is really overweight, but where should I start with her? I don't think we can afford another vet visit for about 1.5 weeks.

Is there anything I can do or try in the meantime, and do ferrets just lose weight sometimes for non-specific reasons??? I heard they get anorhexia... true??

Also, could it be the kibble? We began adding Zupreem a few weeks ago and she seems to prefer that... so is it that there's not enough of that food in the dish for her, would she just lose weight instead of eating the other kibble??

any advice would be appreciated. :o(
