Hi Alicia

You're completely correct. I have been mailing Paty privately, I got my
ferret vet books out and found 3 drugs that can be used for jill jabs, and I
e-mailed Paty the info. It is obviously very important that Baerli gets a
jill jab and I would pester vets in the area until they are willing to give
a jill jab. I'm now trying to find info in German that Paty could show the
vets...

Hi Paty,

UNless ferrets are different in your part of the world, they do NOT cycle
in and out of heat like cats! The are INDUCED OVULATORS-- which means they
STAY in HEAT until they are bred.

This is why the injectible hormone or the jill jab is required. Allowing
your ferret to remain in estrus will cause a condition called aplastic
anemia to occur. Please consult with your veterinarians again. Are they
indeed ferret knowledgeable?

Ulrike am I not correct?
