Subject: Ferret acting itchy, may be ringworm
Message-ID: <621117.1110341886942.JavaMail.root@thallium.smartgroups.com>

Hi!

I have ringworm, gotten from a cat at my work.

I have tried to keep my infection from my ferrets, and one of them licks me a lot. The others do not.

She has been licking me a lot lately, and now she is itching and biting herself like crazy, and is using her teeth to pinch at skin and fur, and especially hair.

I was getting over the ringworm and now I have a few little red spots, unsure of what they are where she probably licked/bit me.

None of the other ferrets (9 others) have it or are itchy. She has no fur loss, but then again, neither did the cat I got it from.

Are some ferrets just really itchy? She acts like she has fleas!!!! But she does not.

Laryssa
