Hi ANg,
It is important to know the sex of your ferret in this matter. If you have
a female, this can occur when the female is in estrus( breeding season)
which is typically starting now. This would mean that the spay was not
complete on your ferret. If this is the case an exploratory surgery would
need to be preformed as a life saving measure.
It can also indicate a vaginal infection in early stages -- IN either case
if you have a gal and this is apparent get to a VET right away.
I am not sure if this were either sex if this could be a discharge from the
anal glands w/o an odor. In the past there have been reports of incomplete
removals of anal scent glands on ferrets which do cause infections &
complications, AGAIN your ferret knowledgeable veterinarian would be the
best one to evaluate the situation. IN either case IF it is established
that your ferret has a condition from either incomplete spay or incomplete
de-scenting procedure, Marshalls health guarantee should cover the
documented veterinary costs.
Best wishes,
