Dr. Sue

It is with a very heavy heart that I come here to say that my Brandy passed
away 1:30 am (just 2 hrs ago). She was adrenal and had been treated with
lupron and melatonin. I should have listened to my instincts and not taken my
vets word that it was a rash. I have lupus and I have the bleeding under the
skin and I should have known that it was what Brandy was having. This all
happened just a few short days ago. This time last week she was doing fine. She had
even eaten an entire jar of chicken baby food at 7 pm. It came as a shock
that she passed so quickly. Just yesterday she was chasing her cage mates
around. She was the boss and she will be missed. I never sought surgery for
Brandy because I had a gut feeling that she would not pull through. She had been
doing well on lupron and melatonin. I only sought the implants yesterday to
insure she was getting a steady flow of the melatonin. She did have troubles
in the past with ulcers and I suspect we may have had it going on again. She
only vomited once and that was 2 weeks ago. If it weren't for the black stools
tonight I wouldn't have given ulcers a thought. I don't know if her death
could have been prevented. I feel so guilty that I took the vets word for it
yesterday (that it was a rash). My baby is gone and I miss her more than words
could ever say. Thank you for getting back to me so soon.
