Hi Julie, This sounds similar to what I went thru with my Rudy. He constantly had seedy or diarrhia stools, and switching back and forth, sometimes normal. Same as your guy, being active and playful. We did the stool test over and over. Put him on med after med. I had diagnoses of ECE to infection to chicken allergies. In the end, I ended up losing him. He had extremely low red count, tried a transfusion, nothing. Without doing the necropsy, I cant tell you for sure what it was, but one vet believed it was bone marrow cancer. Not saying that your Bear has anything like this, but the vets Rudy saw (he had seen a # of vets on this) were concentrating on his stools. No one did a blood test or anything (not until the end). I dont know if that wouldve picked up anything sooner, but I wish I wouldve insisted for more aggressive treatment. I think with Bear they need to look at other causes.
