I'm not a vet, but my ferret BoBo had the same thing this january. He was coughing/gagging at frequent intervals. My vet did a throat endoscopy and we got pictures of his tonsils which looked just like what you describe below. My vet diagnosed tonsilitis and we did an tonsilectomy with a course of antibiotics afterwards and everything cleared up. The vet didn't even have to cut into his throat to remove them so the procedure wasn't that risky. My vet said that tonsilectomy's where not uncommon and even the vet tech's ferret had had one. I would recommend the tonsilectomy. Hope things go well.

After 10 of Clavamox, the lumps are shoing no signs of going away and the ferret now is going into very violent sneezing fits that I am afraid is going to cause him more damages. When he gets into these sneezing fits, his poor little head slams into the floor with each sneeze (about 15 sneezes per fit). The vet wants to do a biopsy on the lumps
> to see what the problem might be. Do you have any input at all that might be helpful with this ferret? Do you think that the vet should do a biopsy now or try other methods of treatment first? I am very concerned about the poor little guy. As a result of the 6 month period of abuse, he is a severe biter. He shows no trust at all what-so-ever for the human hand. (Who could blame him) Any advice on this matter would so greatly be appreciated!
