Hi!

I've been surfing the web for about a week now and finally found this forum and am so glad! I just had a couple of questions about a young male (I think) ferret and some health problems he's been having. My boyfriend and I got him two weeks ago tomorrow, which makes him 9 weeks old. My primay concern is that when we first got him at the pet store he had diarrhea but we were told that it was probably just from stress and not to worry about it. It's now been two weeks and he has yet to have a normal stool though it has firmed up a little, only to go back, and I'm also noticing that there's blood in it off and on. The only thing I can think of for the blood is that he's not chewing his food properly and it's causing damage on the way down. He does get choked sometimes.
Is this something I should be really concerned about? If so does anyone know of any good ferret vets in New Mexico that I could take him to?
He doesn't seem to be in any pain and is very active to the point of being obnoxious. He eats several times a day and from what I can tell he's getting enough fluids. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Crystal
