Hi, everyone,

Since I posted yesterday with questions I thought I'd
offer up what was decided about Nyssa today:

The canine tooth: It's broken not missing. She broke
it right at the gum line. The root is still there.
Our vet sees no sign of abcess or infection. In light
of her other health issues he prefers to leave it be
unless a problem develops. In a younger, heathy
ferret he'd remove it.

Lymphoma: Our vet is still 90% sure that's her main
issue, not an infection or anything else. He did
X-ray her and everything looks normal. The vetalog
had undoubtedly worn off. He gave her another
injection today.

GI issues: The long term pred usage is playing havoc
with her stomach. Since the vetalog is also a steroid
he wants to try and reduce her pred. We are dropping
her to .2ml (1mg/ml) twice a day. If she has any
adverse reaction or does poorly on the lower dose
we'll go right back to .27ml. If she does well on
.2ml we'll try to drop down to .15ml in a week. We
also will give her just a little mylanta ahead of the
pred.

Pain management: Up until two days ago the torbugesic
at .05ml (1mg/ml) as needed up to twice a day has
worked well for her. We hope it still will once the
new vetalog injection helps her again. He gave me an
additional supply.

Nyssa is actually having a better day today though she
was pretty miserable at the vet's office. Hopefully
with this slightly changed regimen of meds we can keep
her happy for a bit longer.

All the best,
Caity
