Removingt the R adrenal is also something a gtood vet who is used to ferrets can usually manage if it hasn't gotten too complicated. Certainly, debulking is a possibility when that side needs it.

The outcome of insulinoma surgery varies a lot. Most have a longer disease-free window and longer life according to studies. We had some cured when they were cuaght early. BUT a lot depends on the skill of the surgeon and if the case is early enough to catch it all, compared to how capable the folks at honme are on the nursing score. Just as tehre have been some ferrets cured with rapid surgery there also have been some ferrets who lasted a very long time on meds for insulinoma but they usually had truly superb care at home. So, multiple factors need to be weighed.
