You all helped me once before and I am turn to everyone again for help with=
my little Molly. Here is the story: Molly is 5 1/2 years old and last Tu=
esday went in for Adrenal Surgery. The vet removed both glands with cryosu=
rgery and removed a mass on her pancreas. I brought her home and for a few=
days she was doing just fine. She was eating, drinking, and going to the =
bathroom on her own. She was also taking her medicine with was Prednisone =
and Amoxicillan. However, on Friday evening, I noticed that she was not ea=
ting and drinking on her own and she was throwing up. I took her to the ve=
t on Saturday and he gave her Sub-Q fluids because she was dehydrated. He =
also said that she might have Addison's Disease and gave her a shot of Perc=
orten and took some blood. The blood work said that her blood sugar was re=
ally high and her potassium and sodium levels were off. He suggested that =
we decrease her Prednisone medicine to 0.2, but gradually. After the fluid=
s on Saturday, she ate immediately after we got home. She hasn't eaten on =
her own since. I took her back to the vet on Monday and he said that her b=
lood sugar levels were normal and gave me some A/D canned food to force fee=
d her with. Needless-to-say, I have tried every way that I know how to for=
ce feed her and she won't take any of the food. (She has always been a fin=
icky eater.) She is drinking on her own, but not enough to keep her from b=
eing borderline dehydrated. So, as of right now, she will stand over her b=
owl and want to eat, but ends up just walking away after a few minutes. If=
I hold her, then she will eat about 4 morsels of her kibble, but that's on=
ly if I hold on to her. Her poop looks like KY jelly mixed with birdseed w=
hich means that she might have ECE, but the vet is yet to diagnose her with=
that. My question is: Is there any over the counter medicines that I can =
give her to help her stomach like Pepto-Bismal or the like and if so, how m=
uch or should I wait to take her back to the vet on Thursday. Any help tha=
t anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am at wits end and do=
n't want to loose her. Thanks. renee
