Bear with me, because I can't remember the word my vet used, but my 3-year-old, George, who is otherwise playful and healthy, has constant dark urine. The first visit to the vet, they looked at in (under the microscope, I presume) and said it did contain blood which had oxydized, thereby giving it the blackish color instead of a reddish color. He prescribed an antibiotic...didn't help. I called and they prescribed a stronger antibiotic and the vet said he doesn't know what's causing it. The 2nd antibiotic didn't help. I'd be much more frantic if George showed any signs of distress, but he appears to be his usual fat, jolly, playful self. But something's obviously not right, so I wanted some input from other vets and ferret lovers who may have run across this problem. If he needs something, I want him to have it. Thanks.
