Hi, Amanda,
You can't know Cody has lymphoma without a biopsy or
at least a needle aspirate of one of the affected
lymph nodes. There are lots of things that aren't
lymphoma that could cause swollen lymph nodes, such as
infection.
Considering how off Cody's blood glucose has been I
wouldn't do anything without blood work and I would
definitely find an experienced ferret vet you can
trust to do it. You seem uncomfortable with the vet
who guessed lymphoma (I would be too from what you
describe) so maybe it's time to find someone else.
You don't know that Cody has lymphoma. You don't know
that he has insulinoma. You do know that his blood
glucose was just way high. You also know diabetes is
quite rare in ferrets. If Cody was mine I wouldn't
give him pred or anything else until I had a better
idea what was really going on.
All the best,
Caity and the fantastic five
