I think you should look for a more concentrated form. 1 mg is the usual starting dosage, but trying to get a ferret to sit still for 4 ml of liquid that may not taste that great, and do this every day, is not going to be fun.

GNC sold a liquid melatonin that contained 2.5 mg per ml. So that meant you only have to give 0.5 ml and it was pretty tasty as I recall. Only problem is, I have heard they no longer sell it, but I don't know that for a fact.
