George, one of our ferrets, has received a serious eye injury. According to our vet, he has a puncture of the cornea. She would like to use gentomycin eye drops in a 3% solution but wanted me to check on any contraindications with ferrets. Information we have found suggests that gentomicin may not be the best. Can anyone provide any alternatives? We live in a small town and my ferrets are almost the only ones she sees. George is currently on oral amoxicillian but no drops until we figure out what is best.
Thanks for any advice you can give
Debbie
