One of the messages in the link Sukie put up is mine
about my ferret with a lacerated cornea. Since this
has come up twice recently, I thought I would post the
drops that were prescribed. In this case, the
laceration was bad enough that my ferret needed a
stitch in the cornea. She had general antibiotics
before surgery (not sure what). After surgery she was
given two sets of drops. The antibiotic was
tobramycin 0.3% solution 4 times a day. She also had
atropine 1% solution twice a day to keep her pupil
dilated for about two weeks I think. I don't know if
you would need that if there wasn't surgery. Then
because she was getting a little two much new blood
vessel growth after 2-3 weeks, she was put on a 1%
pred solution dor a while. I'm not sure how long on
that one. If you can get to a veterinary
opthalmologist, I recommend it. Getting the drops in
teeny little ferret eyes can be a challenge and the
chances of the whole drop getting in the eye were
slim, but apparently the opthalmologist accounted for
that since she warned me in advance.
I'm not a vet but hopefully this helps.
