For those for whom Prednisolone is not enough Imuran and some other approaches are used.

Often there are foods avoided.

We had one who had a very severe case, Sherman, and descriptions of his treatments can be found in
http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org
as can those of others
and in relation to Scooter
we discussed food restrictions, again, as have others. In fact, there was one -- whose name I forget off hand -- who needed an incredibly restricted diet with Canine z/d instead of Feline (the posts explain why), ham baby food, and supplementation.

BTW, some of these ferrets are helped by sugar-free pumpkin puree, but we never had luck with that.

We did find out the hard way that when one of these ferrets has trouble with heavy cream the trouble can be severe. That crash came close to being fatal.
