A question for Dr. Murray. In looking at Revolution for fleas, ticks, etc.,
we are looking at it for Heartworm preventation. We live in South Carolina,
thus have a serious concern about parasites including mosquitoes, fire ants,
etc..
Revolution is a good heartworm preventive for ferrets, but in studies there
was heartworm infection when using the kitten (0-5 pound) size and no infection
(and no problems) when using the cat size. I have used the 5-15 pound cat
size in many ferrets with absolutely no problems/side effects, and that is
definitely the one I would recommend.
