My Buddy, age 7, cardiomyopathy, insulinomic, only one kidney, maintaining
well on meds and tons of TLC. Recently he started drinking his urine, to the
point he would drink it as it *comes out*, a bit like a built in drinking
fountain. A search turned up several things, but generally not serious, some
ferrets just do that. I decided to have my vet test his BG to be sure he
hadn't swung towards diabetic, we also decided on complete blood work and
urinalisis, even though it had been done not many weeks ago. Turns out Buddy
has another UTI second one in about 6 months. I don't know if this is the
cause of the drinking fountain behaviour, but it will be interesting to see
if it stops when the infection is cleared up. Glad I took my wee friend to
see his vet.
