If you and your vet feel he really does have insulinoma, you might want to research
Bob C's duck soup. If time and finances permit - start making it for him and keep
him on it. I believe this may help to minimize the dose of pred initially required. I
can't remember why it has this impact (I read it years ago), but you might be able to
find the info on the miamiferret website. www.miamiferret.org.

Also, please ensure your little one eats PRIOR to taking the pred. as it can be hard
on the stomach.

[Moderator's Note: high protein diets have that effect on a number of ferrets, but
not all. Some turn out to do better with more starch in the diet and you can read of
those exceptions in the FHL Archives at http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org. Also, ones who
have had cystine stones should not use the high protein approach.
