I know your vet doesn't know about ferrets but I can't believe he sent you home w/ a fever like that. Baily should have been hospitalized and on IV fluids. Bloodwork, radiographs and/or ultrasound should also be done so you can know what you're treating. If not that, at least you should be giving sub q fluids at home. I know you are offering the food but is he eating it? Are you MAKING him eat it? He MUST eat. Ferrets dehydrate very quickly when not eating also so just a few licks from the faucet is not enough. They have a daily fluid requirement (as do all animals) which is roughly about 25ml/lb/day. When they are sick and dehydrated they need even more. I would also get a thermometer just for Baily so you can keep track of his temp. Maybe your vet can reccomend someone who knows ferrets...this won't be the last time Baily goes to the vet so it's good to find someone now.
