Two questions:
-I'm treating my ferrets for earmite with selamectin (Revolution/stronghold). I've been using the kitten version (15mg), 2 times, 3 weeks apart from eachother. One of my ferrets has shown a local reaction to it though the second time: I noticed one circular spot where I applied it (scruff) where his hair was loose, the hair came off together with a little crust. I've never had this problem before, although the patient information leaflet mentions this effect in cats.
Has anyone else seen this?
-I'm curious what all of your opinions are on the new bayer-product Advocate. I'm not sure if this is already available in the US, but it's a spot-on combination of Imidacloprid (cfr Advantage) and Moxidectin. It's also suitable for the treatment of Otodectes cynotis (earmite) in cats and dogs, and I wonder:
a) if it would be safe for ferrets? I figure that the imidacloprid wouldn't be a problem, as Advantage is safe to use in ferrets, but what about the moxidectin?
b) if it would be effective for the treatment of earmite in ferrets?
Do you think it would be better, worse or similar as Selamectin?

Thanks in advance for all your thoughts!
