Some ferrets are just plain different. They ARE individuals, after all.
Usually, though, this has a very straightforward explanation. If you are using your indoor lights less during the warmer months and with daylight savings time (if that applies to you) then your ferret is getting less complete darkness in the Autumn than in the Spring and that is precisely the kind of trigger which would cause this reversal.
