A Question: has this ferret been checked for insulinoma? That can cause weakness and stools which unfortunately look like one of my favorite two puddings: butterscotch.

Birdseed stools can indicate that the ferret is not able to process all the fats eaten. See if you can decrease that amount if the vet gives the okay.

Large amounts of stringy mucus can indicate colonic irritation.

What did your vet say about trying eating some yogurt with live cultures to see if that might help?

Has Prednisolone been tired in case there is a need for its ability to reduce inflammation?
