Ok, first off, there's no reason a ferret dental should take 30 min. (unless she needs extractions) But the cleaning? No way. I'm a vet tech and do dentals all the time...a german shepard may take that long but not a ferret.

2nd- the vet is going to sedate Soleil to get the bloodwork...why not do the dental at the same time or at least hand scaling. (if she wasn't being sedated for blood I would not suggest it but why sedate her once for blood then another time for the dental? Do it all at once.) She's already on antibiotics which is great.

How bad are her teeth? If there is actual hard tartar and not just plaque (that would rub off)it definitely needs to come off first. Once the tartar is gone the inflamation should go down and then you can brush her teeth and reap the benefits. You have to start w/ a clean slate. Does the vet think she needs extractions?
