Hello everyone,

Well, My ferret Cody seems to be feeling a lot better. Man does he HATE tak=
ing his meds. Right now I am treating him for a possible ulcer. He seems to=
be eating his kibble more regularly now, and his glucose has remained norm=
al since being off pred for 2 weeks. I plant o check again in a week. My qu=
estion revolves around the possibility that Cody has the beginnings of card=
iomyopathy. He radiographs are inconclusive, except that he has a grade 1 h=
eart murmur, which could explain why his heart is a little enlarged. I am p=
lanning on having an ultrasound done. My question is, can heart disease cau=
se him to "waste". Cody is a very bony boy and shakes a lot. I know all fer=
rets shake when they first wake up, but Cody REALLY shakes. Could his bonin=
ess just be old age, or is this a sign off some disease? As of right now, C=
ody has no signs of adrenal, and has had a normal glucose for over 2 weeks =
now. I am still not ruling out insulinoma, but I am not treating him with p=
red unless his glucose makes it justifiable. Just in case you don't know ab=
out Cody, I don't know how old he is. I adopted him from a family two years=
ago who knew nothing about him (they had adopted him from someone living o=
ut of a car. My vet said he was 6 or 7. I am just curious about people's ex=
periences with ferrets and heart disease. My vet still doens't know the sou=
rce of Cody's problems the last few weeks, as his glucose has been normal. =
The only link we can find is heart disease. I was just curious as to people=
experiences. Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for the advice=
