It does not appear that Soleil needs any extractions, nor has her vet suggested such.
Her vet will not do the dental cleaning without first seeing her blood panel, as Soleil is becoming older. Typically she only gives ferrets a whiff of gas to draw blood, therefore not true "sedation".
Teeth brushing has been for almost four weeks now (two days brushing, one day off), and her multi-colored gums are not more evenly pink. I guess I don't know the difference between tartar and plaque? She had some initial gum bleeding when teeth brushing began, but now is better adjusted (gums not bleeding and she doesn't mind so much).
Thank you for your thoughts so far!
