The vets I work for (who very seldom see ferrets) are going to unltrasound Cody's heart tomorrow to look for cardiomyopathy (x-rays are inconclusive). I am having them try first before going to a specialist to save money if possible (them ultrasounding him for me is free). Does anyone have any tips/suggestions for my vet on what to look for? Maybe someone can recommend a book or someone else to talk to. Keep in mind that if this doesn't pan out, I am going to take Cody to a specialist. I am not going to give him bad care. I just think this is worth a try, and the vet I work with is more than willing ot give it a go. We have a brand new ultrasound at the clinic and she has become very skilled with it when it comes to dogs and cats...but not ferrets. We hardly ever see ferrets where I work unfortunately. And when we do, the vets turn to me for help. LOL. Thanks in advance for the advice!
