Bandit was still inthe hospital when it poped back out, he is on can A/D and ben on it sence befor the surgey last week, when the dr toldme to put him on it, but befor Bandit and all the ferret were on the pruina kitten chow and Natural Gold ferret food mixed togather for a month befor that all the ferrets were doing doing great on it and even some of my hospice ferrets were doing good and gaining waight on it. Bandit loved it but then Bandit started getting sick and couldnt go to the bathroom and kept geting constapatded just befor Easter. I took him to vet and at that time they said there was nonthing wrong with him. he was getting worse and the vet finaly took x-rays and it still showed no blockage few days later i took him back they kept him over night gave him a laxative and sent him home days later i finaly took him to another vet 40 miles from me and they said he was fine but that i needed to change his diet and to take him off the Nat Gold ferret and put him back on to
purnia kitten and totely ferret like he used to be on befor all this started so i did. 3 days later i took him back to my olf vet cause he got bad again and thats when they saw he had prolapsy and they did the pursestring surgey and it poped back out while he was there the dr didnt want to do it again and for us to wait a week befor trying it again but that in the mean time to put this hydro b 1020 on him soidid and so i took him back for his recheck on wed dr said it looked better wish he was feeling alittle better and alittle more playful even with his cagemates soo ii thought he was geting back on the road to get well when he needed to go pottey while we was at the vet and the dr and i both saw how he was going to the bathroom he was laying almost flat on his belly trying to go to the bathroom and could barly go the dr looked at him again and while checking him over she saw his little penis red too and so she has me putting that hydro on both his hinny and penis. ad thats
where we stand for now whit him, i didnt put the hydro on him yesterday or this morn , i had been putting disatian the baby diper rash oatment on him instead after i read the bottle when i took the sticker off the bottle and posted some one here here asked me what the hydro was it for.. this morn Bandit is alert and right now walking around trying to get into things walking normel and he hadnt done that in days he had been scooting across the floor most of the time, he seems alittle playful still. and is the only one awake cause i just put the disatine on him and i had woke him. but he eats his can A/D along with purnia one kitten food right now.. So thats where i am at with him this second. but the vet there other day said she saw no blockage when they took sets of x-rays wed just to be sure.. Susan

It may be that this time the tightness was gotten wrong or the stitches came out too fast, or perhaps a more serious procedure is needed. Also, what have you been feeding because if the diet is causing stools that are too loose that can cause the prolapse because there is nothing to contract against.
