Subject: ulcers and weird looking spleen

Could an ulcer(s) in a ferret affect it's spleen? My ferret has all the typical signs of an ulcer (and is undergoing treatment for it) and recently his spleen looked quick abnormal on ultrasound and he had slight fluid in his abdomen. His spleen was very bright with dark patches. I know ulcers can cause fluid in the abdomen, but what about affecting the spleen? My fert's glucose is normal, so it doesn't seem to be insulinoma here. He is having an abdominal tap and fine needle aspirates done on his liver and spleen tomorrow.
