Hi Susan,
I've talked to a few people since then an apparently water warm & sugar made
into a thin solution and applied to the rectum does help with ferrets as well.
I'm a pediatric nurse and we have used it in the past with newborns prior to
surgery-but it's an old treatment.
Poor little guy.
