Uli, I am very sorry for your loss. I also apologize for not responding
to your private email, and promise to do it soon.

In the meantime, as far as I know, AIHA does not cause hemorrhaging. At
least in the cases I have seen, it hasn't. Instead, the red blood cells
burst, and eventually the ferret dies from lack of oxygen.

You had asked if ADV could be the cause of Jasmine's problem before, and
it is very possible. ADV can cause massive amounts of antibodies in
the bloodstream, which cause vascular degeneration and inhibit clotting.

The first ferret I lost to ADV, Buster, was very much like what you
described when we opened him for necropsy. There was bloody fluid
everywhere, and some of the organs were jelly like. And, he was
euthanized and immediately opened, so the deterioration was not due to
decomposition. The U of GA confirmed that the cause was ADV.
