As everyone here will probably mention, ferrets are not susceptible to the rhinovirus that causes the common cold. Grinding his teeth is an indication of nausea or stomach pain which could be from any number of things.

Time for a vet visit for complete bloodwork and a general checkup.

What really started to worry us at first was that he was losing weight and his fur. The fur has grown back, but the weight still has not come back. His appetite has decreased a little, he drinks normal, and sleeps a lot more, but when he does move around, (the little that he does) he "plops" a lot. Plus just the other day we noticed that he's making this weird noise, it sounds like he is chewing on hair.
