It's said that the meters can be off by about 10 points (low), but the companies that make the glucometers will deny that. Plus a ferret's blood may just register differently due to the normally higher packed cell volume.

The important thing is to know how your meter compares to glucose numbers at your vet... assuming they're not just using a human glucometer like yours.

Home testing is probably better for monitoring for changes rather than looking for specific numbers. Even adding 10 or even 20 points to your readings has Zeek at a low glucose level.
