What do you think of the possibility that Cokey Puff could have caught this
from the dog, and her constant respiratory coughing and honking is simply the
parasite constantly slimming up out of the lungs, over the larynx to go back
down into the intestine. (I usta know the name of this dog parasite, toxacara
canii or something like that, will drag out my textbooks and re-read it).

Toxocara is a roundworm. Ferrets can get roundworms, but it is not common.
I certainly would recommend having a fecal sample checked, but would not pin
my thoughts on this being the cause - usually roundworms are much more likely
to cause intermittent coughing than a constant respiratory wheeze.

Appreciate any comments on this one. Cokey Puff is on the fat side because
she likes Gerbers Turkey broth and it cured her recurrent ulcers for good, so I
give her all she wants. A small framed female ferret who weights 3.0 lbs.
Corpulent yes, maybe just excess fat makes her honk with each expiration

Obesity can certainly cause respiratory noise which would be constant.
