I now know what was wrong with Jasmine. To quickly remind everybody (who i=
s
interested) what happened: Jasmine was a spayed jill, just under 6 years ol=
d
Wednesday 20th she was completely normal. Thursday evening she was cold,=
weak, and looked very pale (anaemic). Friday she had a blood test and urin=
e
test (cysto) and started bleeding from her vulva after the cysto. In the
evening she had a blood transfusion of 4 ml and my vet gave her all sorts o=
f
drugs to try and help her with the anaemia, vetergesic, baytril, vitamin K,=
40 ml of fluids... Saturday she had medications again and I gave her sub-q=
fluids but she got worse, was still bleeding from her vulva and I was hopin=
g
she would fade away. She didn't and Saturday night she looked as though sh=
e
was suffering so I got the emergency vet out and had her put to sleep. She=
had been bleeding out from her vulva non-stop from when the cysto was
performed until she was put to sleep. We performed an autopsy and her
abdomen was filled with blood (or bloody fluid) and the pathology came back=
as haemangiosarcoma of the liver. Pictures, blood test results and
pathology results are on my web page now for anybody who is interested:
