Subject: V-hob with litter

Hi everyone,
I have a v-hob that was vasectomized in last november. His spermatic
cord was tied and it was cut by two ferret experts (although this was
their first such operation). Photos were made during the operation
and the cord cut is clearly visible on the photos.
Although vasectomized, he was able to produce (surprise!) a litter
this afternoon (the mating occured on 22nd of march). I'd like to ask
whether it is possible that the cord can regenerate? The other possibility
my vet told me is that testicle isles might have remained in the prostata
that might produce minimal semen (=8 kits). He is also surprised about
what happened.
I'd like to ask how often does this happen and what other possibilities
exist that might result in a v-hob producing litter? He was not recently
vasectomized, and the jill haven't met other hobs (although she lives with
two neutered male).
What can be done now? How can these problems (incorrect cut, regenerated
cord, testicle isles) be detected, resolved? Should the hob be neutered
(I believe he will not be trusted anymore by others, but he's mainly for my
jills
only so I don't care).
Thanks,
Gaba
