Hi Sukie.

Yep, Meeka's vet has approved giving the extra 0.5 cc b.i.d. in order to get Meeka to take the Clavamox. Meeka was to the point of aggressively pushing away any kind of treatment. including medication, and hates the taste of the Clavamox. But by giving her the Amoxicillin chaser I don't have to fight her so much and it isn't as traumatic for her. Her vet isn't crazy about this and would like to see her get off the Amoxicillin but did give me approval today to continue with it along with the Clavamox.

As for the 'two week period' I was also worried about that. I work for a medical doctor who has been around and was head of ER at a few hospitals. He said that after ONE week of it being constituted it still has 70-80% of its potency so I made sure with her vet, who has her Masters of Veterinary Medicine and is the head of exotics at a veterinary college, that it was okay to still give her. I just got the okay from her today to keep giving it (constituted on April 8/05). It is 125 mg suspension (100 x 1 ml), whatever that means, so maybe that makes a difference.

Thanks,
Brandy
