There is allergy testing that can be done on pets although it is pretty expensive. The good thing about it is that you figure out quickly what the allergy is (if there is one) and save yourself (and the ferret) from having to try a bzillion different foods. My feeling is that the main goal should be to get the ferret adequate nutrition. Then, try to minimize the stress its body goes through by not having to change foods constantly. I think it would also probably be cheaper in the long run (save you multiple vet visits and buying twenty different types of food) to go to an allergy specialist, not to mention save your ferret stress from traveling to the vet and stress on its body from changing foods. Regardless, I hope poor BooBoo feels better soon.
Take Care,
Moscha
