Kodo was seven and a half when he had his insulinoma
surgery. Podo was eight. Both lived for another two
years and had definite benefits from the surgery.

The key is not age. The key is what else is going on
with your ferret and if he is otherwise healthy and
strong.

Podo, Kodo, and Ker Avon all had conventional surgery,
not cryo. In discussions with our vet it really is a
matter of what the vet is most comfortable with. Both
types of surgery, done well, can be effective. I
think a ferret vet who is experienced and has a very
high success rate is the most important issue.

Regards,
Caity and the fabulous five
