This could be sepsis somehow related to the transfusion but it could be DIM/mystery disease.
I have arranged to have a vet who has been working on treating these ferrets contact you.
Specimens should be sent to Dr. Mike Garner and or D. Matti Kiupel for study.
Since you are not the person with the sick ferret could you let me know how to contact your friend if the person is on e-mail, or if not then pass along directly to me (NOT a post) at

the name of the treating vet, hospital, and the phone number of the hospital, as well as the ferret and client names. I will pass along that info to the consulting vet, Dr. Katrina Ramsell, and will let the treating vet know how to contact all three of these specialists.
