Subject: lymphoma treatment with FeLV-vaccine??
Message-ID: <6609379.1115294333267.JavaMail.root@thallium.smartgroups.com>
Hi all,
rather accidentally I discovered the following website today:
http://www.frettchendoc.de/html/body_leukose_eng.html
It's an article from a vet that treats lymphoma (which she calls leukosis) with FeLV-vaccinations...
Has anyone ever heard of this before? I know I haven't, and I'm curious about your thoughts...
I know there might be a possibility of a virus causing (some types of) lymphoma in ferrets, but that doesn't mean that FeLV-vaccine is helpful in these cases, does it? After all, even Leukosis in cats isn't curable with this vaccine...
One other thing that already occurred to me is that it seems like none of them got confirmed by histopathology, I assume she bases her diagnosis on the swollen lymphnodes and bloodwork.
Regards,
Anke
